Episode 7 of Man Men inspired The skirt to make a Pineapple Pie. Sal & Kitty supposedly made a pineapple and pine nut pie for their Sunday dinner with Ken Cosgrove. Looking through my collection of 1960 cookbooks did not yield a single recipe with pineapple and pine nuts, so I settled for this recipe from the 1967 Federation of Women's Club Cookbook. It should have baked longer. Oh well, put a cherry on top and serve it with flair.

We recently started watching Mad Men and I've been so impressed by the difference in entertaining and was too intrigued by the Pineapple Pine Nut Pie...your page is the closest I can find.

haven't found one either! i'm watching the DVD with the commentary and matt weiner says it's from when he was working on the sopranos - he said something about how people would constantly be bringing pine nut and pineapple cakes (or was it pie?) to the set. i'd never heard of the combo before, and apparently neither has any internet recipe site! :-)

It has now been almost two years since I first posted on this subject and almost every day someone lands here in their search for a pineapple and pine nut pie recipe! Thanks for looking around.
I'm the latest, I guess! The whole idea of pineapple + pine nuts seems so very wrong. Judging by Anonymous' comment, I would bet that the original pie was pineapple + pistachio, and that Matt Weiner mis-remembered (or misunderstood) the ingredients.
Pineapple and pistachio were both common ingredients in desserts in the 1950s and 1960s. And there are a ton of recipes for "pineapple pistachio pie".
Giada makes a pineapple pine nut desert and it is assume! Found it when searching same!
