President Obama's speech tonight almost cancelled A Charlie Brown Christmas. It's been probably 30 years since The Skirt has taken the time to watch an entire show, but I teared up (more like a little misty-eyed) when I heard that tonight's showing of this American holiday classic was pre-empted by yet another Obama speech. (Watching A Charlie Brown Christmas was the highlight of my birthday/slumber parties in the 1960's.) Dear Mr. President, enough already of the recurrent, showy, campaign-style speeches, better yet, to quote Charlie Brown, "UGH!!!!!!!"
