Everyday we get out of bed and head out into the mix of things going on in our part of the world and we do the best we can with whatever presents itself that day. Most people we know are doing the same thing. You have too. But the future is looking pretty bleak for those who dare to look; the monstrous global debt, the bureaucratization and czarification of the great United States of American, instability in every aspect of our lives. These current conditions are gnawing away at nearly everyone's ability to make a living. So what do you do? Really, what do you do? I'm asking. We drove out to the little farm town of Wilbur, Wa and ate a big, yummy, juicy hamburger with a towering side of greasy french fries. That felt pretty good at the time. There may come a day when the fat czar will have you arrested for eating a meal like that, but for now you still can.

Mike's Old Fashioned Donuts - The Best in Spokane
Over the years, I'd guess we've eaten about 1800 Mike's Old Fashioned donuts here at the hot rod shop. If you're going to eat a donut make it a really good donut, right? The shop is on Sprague Ave & Bowdish Road in Spokane Valley. You have to get there early in the morning.

Burger Lovers - Here's Your Craving
We're diner, drive-in and dives kinda people and we order a lot of hamburgers. We also raise what our customers say is the tastiest beef they have ever eaten. We feel this qualifies us to declare Terry's burgers in Spokane to be some of the best we have ever eaten. They are hand-pressed with a "secret seasoning" cooked to moist, juicy perfection and served on a fresh, toasted then buttered, sesame seed bun with a side of crispy outside tender inside seasoned steak fries. All this for around the same price as the "Spicy Six Dollar Paris Hilton Burger." When you get there let them know you saw it on the Rod Builders Blog.
Terry's also serves a great American diner-style breakfast.
Terry's Breakfast & Lunch 7815 E Trent Ave, Spokane Valley, WA.

Rare Night Out for RBI Crew
Something we seldom do is go out for a drink together, but the mood hit us and off we went to Northern Lights Brewery & Pub. The restaurant located in a neat old warehouse is dimly lit, which is great for ambiance but not for cell phone picture taking. Anyway, we all totally recommend the place. They make excellent beer and the food is tasty and filling. FYI Kayla says the portabella mushroom burger is just that, a portabella mushroom on a burger bun.
